“It is the responsibility of every one of us to abide by the regulations and measures put in place to protect the public health. Following simple practices like social distancing is effective in preventing the spread of Covid-19,” said Al Owais.

The Minister of Health and Prevention also praised the valiant efforts of frontliners who will be spending Eid Al Adha away from their loved ones as they perform their duties: “We highly appreciate our frontline heroes of doctors, nurses and healthcare providers who are spending Eid AlAdha away from their families, to keep us safe and healthy. We will always remember and value their relentless efforts.”

Dr. Omar Al Hammadi, the government’s briefing spokesperson advised families to be good examples to their children so that everyone would steer clear of the coronavirus.

“We advise families to pay more attention to children who have respiratory illness and under one year old. Both are at risk of developing acute symptoms of Covid-19. When adults abide by precautionary measures, they encourage children to also follow health practices,” said Dr. Al Hammadi.
