PH breaches 89,000-mark in COVID-19 cases; records over 38,000 new recoveries

DOH confirms 3,954 new cases, 23 new deaths

The Department of Health has announced that the Philippines has already surpassed the 89,000-mark in the number of coronavirus disease (COVID-19) cases as it records 3,954 new cases. The total number now stands at 89,374.

DOH has also confirmed that the recoveries in the country now stands at 65,064, after a whopping 38,075 patients have successfully recouped from the virus.

In addition, the department announced 23 new fatalities, bringing the total number to 1,983

President Rodrigo Duterte maintains the general community quarantine (GCQ) status in Metro Manila until July 31, along with Laguna, Cavite, Rizal, Lapu Lapu City, Mandaue City, Ormoc City, Southern Leyte, Zamboanga City, Butuan City, Agusan del Norte, and Basilan.

Meanwhile, Cebu City will be under Modified Enhanced Community Quarantine (MECQ).
