China currently faces the threat of the reemergence of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) after five regions reported a total of 68 new infections as of Tuesday, July 28.
Of this number, 57 comes from the northwest region of Xinjiang, resulting in a strict lockdown in the region’s capital Urumqi.

Another six cases were reported at the port city of Dalian, Liaoning province where the outbreak reemerged from a seafood processing plant a week ago as per reports from Agence France Presse.
The Dalian cluster has since spread to nine cities across five regions in China, including Fujian’s provincial capital of Fuzhou after an asymptomatic patient traveling from Dalian entered the city.

Another asymptomatic patient traveled from Dalian towards Beijing, which lead the country’s capital to conduct mass testing at the housing estate where the patient lives.
Local health officials assured the public that they would conduct mass testing at Dalian across six million residents within four days.
