Duterte urges gov’t agencies digitize transactions, make queuing ‘a thing of the past’

President Rodrigo Duterte on fifth State of the Nation Address at the Batasang Pambansa Complex has directed all government agencies to digitize their transactions.

The President also warned them avoid the practice of making the public wait in government offices, especially amid the ongoing pandemic.

“I reiterate my call for all government instrumentalities to implement systems that shall make physical queuing a thing of the past,” said the Philippines.

“Panahon na para mawala ang pila para mapagsilbihan ng gobyerno nang walang kahirapan para sa tao,” he added. “We need to adjust and adapt in a paperless type of business and work performance. We need e-governance,” Duterte said.

These ‘new normal’ directives from the President shall be facilitated by the Anti-Red Tape Authority, the Department of Budget and Management, as well as all government agencies.
