Trump finally encourages Americans to wear face masks against COVID-19

After months  of downplaying face masks, US President Donald Trump has encouraged Americans to wear them following the surge in the number of coronavirus disease (COVID-19) cases in the country.

The President said that the face masks have an impact “whether you like them or not,” and encouraged others to use them in order to curb the spread of the disease in the most impacted nation in the world—with cases currently at 3,970,908 as per data released by Johns Hopkins University.

He said that he will gladly use face masks in order to ensure safety from COVID-19, while commenting that the vaccines are coming a lot sooner.

“Some areas of the country doing very well, others doing less well. It will probably, unfortunately, get worse before it gets better. I don’t like saying that, but that’s the way it is,” Trump said.
