Saudi to implement full-day lockdown on Eid holidays

Saudi Arabia has announced that it will implement full-day lockdowns across the country during Eid holidays this year as a preventive measure against coronavirus disease (COVID-19), The National reported.
According to the Ministry of Interior, the Kingdom will implement full curfews and restrictions on the coming holiday, which will be on May 23 to May 27. This move was made after a spike in the number of infections across Saudi.
The report added that all economic and commercial activities are currently open from 9 AM to 5 PM until the end of Ramadan—except in highly impacted areas such as Makkah.
Recently, the Kingdom has also suspended the umrah pilgrimage to alleviate the spread of the disease.
