7 neighborhoods in Jeddah quarantined

Jeddah has put seven governates under quarantine as part of its preventive measures to alleviate the spread of coronavirus disease (COVID-19), Saudi Press Agency reported.
According to a statement released by the Ministry of Interior, the areas in Jeddah placed under quarantine include Kilo 14 North, Kilo 14 South, Al-Mahjar, Ghulail, Al-Qurayat, Kilo 13, and Petromin.

Residents in these areas are mandated to follow the curfew between 6 AM to 3 PM, and go out only for buying essentials and medical goods. Exemptions apply for those in vital and public sectors such as security, military, healthcare, and media.

In addition, Jeddah has also banned residents from entering or exiting the governate.
The total number of cases in Saudi Arabia now stands at 2,179. The Kingdom has implemented various measures to curb the spread of the disease—including shutting down malls and marks, restricting operations of restaurants, and implementation of work-from-home policy for a period of 16 days.
