Kuwait reports 23 new COVID-19 cases, total now at 289 

Kuwait has reported 23 new cases of coronavirus disease or COVID-19 in the gulf state in the last 24 hours. 

The new cases now bring the total to 289 according to Dr. Abdullah Al-Sanad, the health ministry spokesperson. 

About 216 patients are now being treated, and 13 others are now in intensive care units. Kuwait state media added that three patients are now in critical condition.

Eight of the new cases are Kuwaiti citizens who returned from Britain, Iran and France, while 14 have a history of contact with infected patients. 

Kuwaiti Minister of Health Bassel Al-Sabah also announced the recovery of one more patient from COVID-19, increasing the country’s total recoveries to 73.
