Ministry of Health spokesman Dr. Mohammed Al-Abd Al-Aly said that untested drugs and herbal treatments promoted on social media is “deplorable,” advising the public not to believe baseless and unscientific claims on various ways to treat COVID-19.
He added that when the real vaccine becomes available, it will be announced to the world and the Kingdom.
“Who gave them the right to make such claims? I hope everyone rejects these lies. Research needed to develop a vaccine could take months or up to a year,” Arab News quoted Al-Aly as saying.
The spokesman added to follow only the advice of the government and the concerned authorities to help alleviate the spread of the disease.
