Saudi Arabia reports decline in COVID-19 cases in Qatif after strict measures

Saudi Arabia has announced that the number of coronavirus disease (COVID-19) cases in Qatif city has significantly fallen since the lockdown and implementation of stricter measures.
In a report by Arab News, Saudi’s health authorities said that the virus has become manageable in the city after the lockdown two weeks ago. It added that so far, it has only reported four new cases.
Health Ministry spokesman Dr. Mohammed Al-Abd Al-Aly said the infection rate has fallen, which proves that the disease has been contained due to stricter measures.
Saudi has 119 new cases in the Kingdom on March 22, bringing the total number of cases to 511. Most of the cases are caused by close contact with those who have earlier been diagnosed with the disease, pushing the authorities to strongly discourage residents to avoid crowds and gatherings of any kind.
Dr. Al-Aly advised everyone to follow quarantine procedures and stay at home whenever possible. He also recommends everyone to call hotline 937, and use Mawid and Seha apps for any concerns.
