Pinoy karate champions shine in Jeddah

The Philippine Consulate General in Jeddah lent its support to the 1st NAPSKI Unity Tournament held on March 6, 2020 at the Asian Martial Arts and Defense Arena in Jeddah.
The tournament was organized by the NAP Awitin Pedregosa Shotokan Karatedo International (NAPSKI), the first-ever karate club in Jeddah to be founded and chaired by a woman, Norma Pedregosa, under the auspices of the Philippine Karatedo Federation (PKF) and the Filipino International Martial Arts Federation (FIMAF).
The tournament brought together twenty-three different Filipino karate clubs in Jeddah and the Western Region, with karate participants competing in the kata and kumite categories.
For her remarkable kata performance, Farrah Dingal, a Black Belt trained under NAPSKI, won double gold medals; one from the tournament and another conferred by the Jeddah-based Asia Martial Arts Defense Club, as Champion for Kata. Farrah is the eldest daughter of Consul Mary Jennifer Dingal of the Consulate.
Abbas Indal, on the other hand, a Black Belt trained under the Sensei Shotokan Karate Club (SSKC), also two gold medals as Champion for Kumite, Senior Black Belt Division, for his superior sparring skills and techniques.
