Philippine Embassy in Saudi conducts lecture on Philippine Safe Spaces Act

As part of its commitment to ensuring the safety of the Filipinos based in Saudi Arabia, the Philippine Embassy in the Kingdom conducted a lecture about public safety.
Through this lecture, the Embassy has shown its aim to continuously keep its personnel abreast with the laws, rules, and regulations connected to the effective discharge of their duties and responsibilities as government employees and citizens of the Philippines.
The seminar, which was held at the Philippine Embassy Chancery earlier this month, put a focus on Republic Act 11313, also known as the Safe Spaces Act.
The Safe Spaces Act aims to ensure an individual’s sense of personal space and public safety. It addresses gender-based sexual harassment in public areas such as streets, privately owned places open to the public, and public utility vehicles, among others.
RA 11313 also extends the protection to cyberspace, providing prohibited acts and their appropriate penalties.
