Saudi targets over 1 million women to join sports

As part of its commitment to improve the quality of life of Saudi women, Saudi Arabia is working on initiatives to encourage over a million of its women to participate in popular sports.
In a report by Saudi Gazette, the Kingdom’s Quality of Life Program 2020 aims to achieve participation of women in popular and international sports. It also highlights its move to empower women through its theme “Diversity and Inclusion.”

The program is in close collaboration with the Kingdom’s top legislative officials to create regulations that involve producing clubs and encouraging women to reconnect with their sports hobbies. This include the plan to build 21 new clinics for women within the year.
Saudi Gazette also reported that the program aims to make Saudi a top living destination in accordance to its Vision 2030.
