Riyadh attracts more single women looking for career opportunities

In its efforts to catch up with modern times through its new reforms, Riyadh has seen a large number of single women coming for career opportunities.
According to a report by Arab News, a lot of single women in Saudi are moving to the capital due to its modern and liberal take on women’s rights and participation in the labor market.
“The idea of women moving to cities in search of work isn’t new, but it rarely happened on the scale we’re seeing today,” Arab News quoted Shahad Al-Hamdan, a communication officer in Riyadh, as saying.
He added that the Kingdom, especially Riyadh, sees that women are now more educated than they were before—with a lot of them holding graduate and doctorate degrees. This, he noted, is the reason many of them want to nurture their career growth in big cities that hold more opportunities.
The officer also said that many Saudi women now are keen on being independent, and be free to make their own decisions—and that moving to Riyadh has given them that kind of opportunity.
