A Bahrain court sentenced a local man to 10 years in prison after he was convicted of dealing in drugs.
Cops nabbed the defendant after he sold hashish to a police undercover for BD100 (Php 13,000), newspapers said.
Police searching the man’s house found hashish and other narcotics, but he claimed in court that the stuff was for personal use and not dealing.
The prosecutor told court the defendant was jailed in 2018 after he was caught possessing drugs.
The report said the judge wanted to issue a tougher sentence but found the penalty was enough “given the circumstances surrounding the case”.
