Bahrain’s Fourth High Criminal Court has sentenced an official of the Interior Ministry’s Customs Affairs to five years in jail and a fine of Bhd14, 250 for not fining a man shipping vape juice into the Kingdom.
In a report by The Daily Tribune News of Bahrain, Public Prosecution’s Chief Prosecutor Mohammed Jamal Sultan said the official illegally exempted the shipper—who also got the same sentence—from paying Bhd14,250 duty, and said that it was a case of customs duty evasion.
He added that the Public Prosecution, after being notified about the incident, interrogated the testimonies of the witnesses and the defendants before referring them to court for trial.
