A Kuwaiti court ordered a local man to return 30,000 dinars ($99,000) to a girl he misled into believing he loves her and wants to marry her.
The “fake Romeo”, feigning that he was infatuated with the Kuwaiti girl, asked her to lend him the sum to support a small project he intended to set up, the Arabic language daily Al Anba said.
After he got the money, the man disappeared and the girl’s attempts for several to get in touch with him failed, it said.
“The girl then realized that she was a victim of fraud and that the man played with her feelings only to get money from her… she decided to report him to the police.”
