Kuwait City: An Egyptian man who was staying illegally in Kuwait jumped to his death from the 10th floor to escape policemen who raided the suspected apartment.
The man was among several expatriates staying in the flat in the capital Kuwait City when police stormed in, local newspapers said.
Police rounded up several men in the apartment for visa violations while the rest escaped, they said.
An Egyptian who panicked when he saw his friends being captured ran towards the balcony and jumped down, the report said, adding that he died on the spot.
Newspaper said the expatriates, mostly Arabs, had been brought to Kuwait by a local company but it did not complete their residence procedures although they have paid over 70,000 dinars ($231,000).
