Saudi Arabia has canceled a rule that separates the entrance of men and women in restaurants, Saudi Gazette reported.
The Ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs (MMRA) has recently eradicated the rule that requires a separate entrance men and women, as well as bachelors and families, in restaurants and dining facilities all over the Kingdom.
The ministry has also abolished such distance between sports centers as well as wedding halls and rest-houses.
The Acting Undersecretary of the Ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs for Technical Affairs Dr. Khaled Bin Muhammad Al-Jammaz said that this abolishment is part of the updating of conditions in all establishments in Saudi Arabia. Saudi Gazette reported that the team working on the updates comprise 32 government authorities and private entities, as well as 17 mayoralties.
Dr. Al-Jammaz added that this cancelation aims to improve the experience of beneficiaries, control urban development, and pave the way for a modern mechanism of a society.
