Silent work of Filipino community in Saudi lauded

A Filipino organization in Saudi was commended for its initiatives and assistance for Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) last November 29.

The Saudi Arabian chapter of Philippine-based organization 1 Ganap Guardians was lauded by the Philippine Consulate General in Jeddah at the 10th anniversary celebration of the group at Sofitel Al Hamra Jeddah, for its activities and in in providing logistics and manpower assistance to the various Filipino community organizations in the Kingdom.

Consulate representative Vice-Consul Alfred Kristoffer Guiang urged the group to continue its commendable work as the guardians of the Filipino community in Saudi Arabia, silently providing manpower and logistic assistance to events by various Filipino organizations. He also commended the Chapter for the Bowling Fun Day it has been conducting every year.

During the activity which had a Filipino fiesta theme, the group’s ASC Dance Group also gave Filipino folk dance and song performances, much to the delight of the guests and the group’s other members who came from Riyadh and Najran, KSA.
