Gulf Cancer Conference opens in Bahrain

The 3rd Combined Gulf Cancer Conference (CGCC) opened in Bahrain last December 7, Bahrain News Agency reported.

The conference, which was organized by Bahrain Cancer Society (BCS), was inaugurated by Health Minister Faeqa bint Said Al Saleh—with the support from Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, Wife of His Majesty the King, President of the Supreme Council for Women and Honorary President BCS.

At the opening ceremony, the Health Minister said the event shows how the Kingdom is committed to further innovate its health services for cancer patients, as well as support the efforts of the other countries in the region in the prevention and early detection of the disease.

She added that it is also vital to alleviate the burden of the cancer treatments and lower the death toll resulting from it, in line with the main goals of the Gulf Cancer Strategy 2016-2025.

The 3rd Combined CGCC was also attended by President of the Supreme Council of Health (SCH) Lt. General Shaikh Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Khalifa.
