Saudi Arabia’s Human Rights Commission (HRC) has recommended creating a law that will criminalize all forms of racial discrimination, Saudi Press Agency reported.
HRC said that the move will help further promote tolerance and respect for human rights, and will strictly enact the provisions of the Kingdom’s laws that prohibit racism of all kinds.
The regulations against racial discrimination are already included in the Islamic Shariah Law, but the commission said criminalizing it will push everyone to observe and practice tolerance throughout the kingdom.
In a report by Saudi Gazette, the Kingdom’s accession to the International Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Racial Discrimination has further made combating racism its integral priority, especially in creating new laws.
