Saudi holds first Anime Expo in Middle East

Saudi Arabia has brought the taste of Japan to the Middle East with the very first Anime Expo, the largest exhibition organized in the region, Arab News reported.

The exhibit, which was held from November 16 to 18, gave long-time Anime fans in the Kingdom a chance to enjoy all things Japanese—from J-pop (Japanese pop) performances to anime booths and manga stalls.

Arab News reported that each booth presented different activities dedicated to famous anime shows and manga pieces. There’s the Naruto booth with the titular character’s life-sized statue, the Dragon Ball booth with a large figure of a green dragon, the Captain Tsubasa booth where you can score goals, the Detective Conan booth with a mystery case activity, and the One Piece booth, wherein fans learned some of its secrets to success.

The Expo also closed with a concert, where various Japanese legends performed to the tune of the classical tracks form the most famous anime and Japanese shows. Some of the performers include Sammy Clark, Isao Sasaki, and Ichiro Mizuki.
