Bahrain’s High Administrative Court has supported the decision of the National Health Regulatory Authority (NHRA) to suspend a dentist after his patient suffered severe complications following his treatment, The Daily Tribune News of Bahrain reported.
The dentist was suspended for six months for allegedly failing to deliver a suitable treatment for his patient, which caused her to suffer further medical difficulties as well as undergo a surgical intervention and a treatment for a longer period.
The dentist filed a case against NHRA’s unanimous decision, pointing out that the patient did not follow the treatment plan and instead headed to a different doctor to remove her braces.
The court, however, rejected his appeal, stating that the doctor indeed failed in handling the woman’s case, as well as flopped in dealing with the complications after the treatment.
