PH Consul General in Jeddah lauds efforts of OFW leaders

Philippine Consul General in Jeddah Ed Badajos expressed his admiration for the efforts made by the leaders of Overseas Filipino Worker communities in uniting and providing services for the Filipinos in Saudi Arabia.

During the oath taking of the newly-elected officials of OFW Council of Leaders (OCL) last November 10, the Consul General thanked the group for its services for OFWs in the Kingdom. OCL is an umbrella group of various Filipino Community (FilCom) groups in Jeddah and the Western Region of Saudi Arabia.

“The volunteerism spirit of our FilCom leaders and groups in KSA enables the Consulate to better address the concerns of our kababayans in distress. We hope to have an open and continuous communication to make sure that our efforts are in sync with one another, all for the benefit of our OFWs,” he said.

After administering the oath taking of officers, Consul General Badajos also Badajos held a dialogue with the various Filcom leaders to discuss some issues and concerns of the Filipino community regarding consular services and other related matters.

OCL, founded on July 7, 2015, currently has more than 60 member Filipino organizations. Its goal is to unite other Filipino organizations and support each other’s activities, projects, and programs.
