Kuwaiti police arrested an Arab man on charges of raping an 8-year-old Arab girl after seducing her with sweets.
The girl told her uncle the man asked her to come with him to buy her sweets from the shop and then took her to an isolated place where he attacked her.
Newspapers said her uncle chased the rapist and scuffled with him before police arrived in the area following calls from residents.
Police arrested the Arab and charged him of raping a child, the papers said, adding that he would stand trial shortly.
