71 undocumented OFWs in Bahrain receive Flexi Visa

Around 71 undocumented Overseas Filipino Workers in Bahrain received their Flexi Visa on October 27, making them legal residents even with the absence of a local sponsor.

The OFWs were part of the 200 Filipinos whose one-year Flexi Visa fees are funded by the Philippine Embassy in Bahrain under their new financial assistance program in partnership with Bahrain’s Labour Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA).

The Flexi Visa is renewable document which allows the eligible person to work and live in Bahrain without an employer (or sponsor), where he can work in any job with any number of employers on a full or a part-time basis.

Several netizens based in the Kingdom expressed their gratitude to the Embassy for providing the undocumented OFWs a second chance.

Teresa Labajo thanked the Embassy for their support. “Wow, ang swerte naman ng mga naka-avail. Congratulations guys and thanks to our very supportive Embassy here in Bahrain.”

Netizen Marissa Razonable Ladaga added that the Flexi Visa gives one power to find multiple sources of income and can even be accepted in loans.

“Congratulations sa lahat ng Flexi Visa. Free kayong makapagtrabaho ng buong loob. Actually kahit sa car loan accepted ang Flexi Visa basta mayroon permanent job. Para sa maraming income na hindi salary transfer, pwede kayong gumawa ng sariling bank deposit to get good bank statements anytime needed. Good luck!” she said.
