PH to repatriate remains of OFW who fell into coma, died in Saudi

The Overseas Workers’ Welfare Administration (OWWA) has expressed its readiness to extend assistance to the family of an Overseas Filipino Worker (OFW) who recently died in a hospital in Saudi Arabia.

OFW Maribel Patubo, who hails from Bantay, Ilocos Sur, passed away last October 17 after she fell into coma following her operation at a hospital.

The cause of her death is not yet clear to her family.

However, reports reaching the family indicated that the OFW fell inside the house where she was serving. Details come in trickle about her death.

She reportedly suffered brain aneurysm due to the fall.

It was her employers who brought her to the hospital.

Virna Agbayani, Family Welfare Officer of OWWA- Region 1, said in a report by Bombo Radyo Vigan that the agency is assisting in the repatriation of the OFW’s body.

Maribel left her two kids aged six and nine.
