PH Overseas Labor Office-Eastern KSA reminds OFWs of proper messaging etiquettes

Philippine Overseas Labor Office (POLO) in Eastern Saudi Arabia has reminded Overseas Filipino Workers in the region about proper ways to ask for assistance.

In its Facebook post, the office reminded everyone reaching out to keep the message concise and direct, with information such as complete passport and contact details, location, agency, and employer, indicated right away.

“Marami po kasi ang may mahabang kwento pero hindi namin malaman kung sino ang may problema. Wala nang maraming pasakalye. Sabihin sa maikling pananalita kung ano ang problema,” they said.

POLO – Eastern Region also said that they only cover the Kingdom’s Eastern Region, and that requests from other areas like Riyadh or Jeddah are transferred to entities that cover them. They also reminded OFWs to be patient as not only is the region very vast, every request needs also a careful consideration and research for a steady result.

“‘Yong iba naman po ay walang pasensya. Kaka-message pa lang ay gusto na agad ng resulta. Malawak po ang Eastern Region, kung minsan, kailangang magbiyahe ng dalawa hangang limang oras. At kailangan po naming makipag-ugnayan sa agency at pulis,” the office noted in its post.

The OFWs are also told to resist taking live videos of the homes of their employers or the premises of the company they are working in because it violates the Kingdom’s privacy law—which could invalidate the complaint.

The office also reminded Filipinos in the Kingdom to make sure that the information and the complaint are accurate, so it will get solved more efficiently, and no time will be wasted.
