The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) confirmed that there was no Filipino among the casualties and injured in a deadly crash between a bus and another vehicle in Saudi Arabia last October 16, Philippine News Agency reported.
According to the DFA Assistant Secretary Eduardo Meñez, the Philippine Consulate General in Jeddah noted that they have not received any report of Filipino casualties from the said collision, which occurred near the city of Medina and has killed dozens of tourists.
“The Consulate General continues to monitor the incident and will provide further updates on the matter in due course,” local media quoted him as saying.
The crash reported at least 35 casualties, comprising mainly Asian and Arab tourists. Reports said the injured have been transferred to Al-Hamna Hospital for treatment.
