Two Arab expatriates seen in an online video talking to three women in a shopping mall in Saudi Arabia could be jailed for two years, a newspaper said on Tuesday.
The two published the video on Snapchat showing them talking to three girls at the mall in the capital Riyadh while the women were seen laughing.
Sada newspaper said the two have been charged of harassing and molesting the girls in a public place and that punishment for such charges include two years in prison or a SR100,000 ($27,000) fine.
Police arrested the two a few days after the video triggered widespread anger in the conservative Gulf Kingdom.
“Punishment for such charges in Saudi Arabia includes two years in prison or a fine of SR100,000,” the paper said, adding that they would be tried soon.
