Saudi authorities on Monday executed a Syrian convicted of murdering his father by hitting him on the head with a hammer many times.
The unnamed killer then poured petrol on his father’s body and set it on fire in a bid to mislead authorities and hide any signs of his crime.
The official Saudi news agency said police managed to identify the killer just after the murder at his house in the Eastern Ihsa region.
The unidentified defendant was convicted and sentenced to death by a lower court and the verdict was upheld by the Supreme Court. He was executed after the sentence was ratified by King Salman bin Abdul Aziz.
