Bahrain’s parliament speaker lauds relationship with PH

The chair and speaker of Bahrain’s parliament recently highlighted the kingdom’s focus to further foster its friendship with the Philippines.

H.E. Fawzia Bint Abdullah Zainal, in a report by Bahrain News Agency, said how she values the growing relationship of the two countries in trade and investment, and how the Philippines supports security and stability in Bahrain.

Philippine Ambassador Alfonso Ver recently called on H.E. Fawzia Bint Abdullah Zainal, Member of Parliament and Chair of the Bahrain Council of Representatives to talk about the relations between the Philippines and Bahrain legislatures.

The speaker also admires the invaluable contributions of the Filipino community in Bahrain, especially the exemplary Filipinas she has met.

Zainal is Bahrain Parliament’s first female chair and speaker, and the second female to hold such position in the GCC. Her appointment is also considered the highest in female parliamentarians since 2002.

The Bahrain-Philippines Parliamentary Committee is composed of the following Members of Parliament: Ahmed Youssef Al-Ansari, Ammar Hussein Abbas, Masouma Abdel Rahim Hassan, and Yusuf Ahmed Thawadi.
