36 teams compete in bowling tournament in Bahrain

A record-breaking number of 36 teams have competed in the 5th Ambassador’s Cup Inter-Filmcom Bowling Tournament in Bahrain last August 30.

The Philippine Embassy in Bahrain, in cooperation with the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA), PAG-IBIG and SSS, held the day-long annual tournament as part of their health and wellness program for Filipinos based in the kingdom.

Over 300 players and supporters graced the event, including Embassy personnel and members of the various Filipino organizations in Bahrain.

Several groups joined the tournament, including the Philippine Institute of Civil Engineers (which was hailed as the competition’s champion), and the Toastmaster Group (PPO Toastmaster Group).

Philippine Ambassador to Bahrain Alfonso A. Ver said that the embassy is grateful for the outpouring support of the Filipino organizations in Bahrain, headed by the umbrella organization – Filipino Club Bahrain (FCB). He added that the tournament promotes camaraderie, physical wellness, and sportsmanship.

All participants were each given a Certificate of Appreciation by the Embassy for their participation in the tournament.
