Cleanliness campaigns in Bahrain strengthened

Bahrain has launched an education campaign about the implementation of its cleanliness law, The Daily Tribune News of Bahrain reported.

The kingdom’s Ministry of Works, Municipalities Affairs and Urban Planning initiated a workshop, which aimed to clear all doubts about the implementation of the cleanliness law.

The workshop was inaugurated by the ministry undersecretary Shaikh Mohammed bin Ahmed bin Sultan Al Khalifa, and was presented by legal adviser Ali Ghanem Al Binali.

The ministry added that it will launch more awareness campaigns about the new law as the department is in the final stages of its regulation.

The Daily Tribune News of Bahrain reported that His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa issued Law 10/2019 last May which will impose BD300 for cleanliness violations like littering, urinating, and spitting. For transporting garbage and dangerous substances without a license, the fine will go up to BD1,000.

The ministry also said that the regulations will be finalized in September, and that the by-laws were already presented to 13 government bodies and municipal councils.
