Hundreds of OFWs take licensure exams in Jeddah

A total of 824 Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) from different professions participated in the recently concluded 2019 Special Professional Licensure Exams (SPLE) in Jeddah.

The SPLE was administered from August 12 to 14 by the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) in cooperation with the Philippine Professional Organization – Western Region Saudi Arabia (PPO-WRSA) Chapter and the Philippine Consulate General in Jeddah, and in partnership with the Philippine Overseas Labor Office in Jeddah (POLO-Jeddah).

POLO-Jeddah was also the lead agency that organized the preparations and the implementations for the said SPLE.

The examinations covered 20 professions, including Architecture, Certified Public Accountancy, Civil Engineering, Dentistry, Electronics Engineering, Electronics Technicians, Environmental Planning, Mechanical Engineering, Nursing, Physical Therapy, Professional Education, Radiologic Technology, Electrical Engineering, Master Electrician, and Respiratory Therapy. Out of these, the highest number of examinees came from the nursing profession with a total of 501 takers.

Philippine Consul General Badajos expressed his appreciation and gratitude to the PRC Team and the PPO for the success of SPLE. “Bidding farewell to, and thanking the team from the Philippine Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) led by Ms Virginia Martin that successfully presided over the three-day Special Professional Licensure Examination (SPLE) in Jeddah. Good luck to all the examinees!” He said on his Facebook post.
