World Health Organization (WHO) has expressed deep appreciation for Saudi Arabia’s health services during the Hajj season, saying they are beyond exemplary, Arab News reported.
In a released statement, WHO said that the efforts of health care volunteers who provided services to over 2 million pilgrims are commendable. A team of the organization who visited the health care centers and hospitals in different Hajj venues said that the centers have done great job in detection and prevention measures.
The organization added that Saudi has proven how it was well equipped to respond to the risks associated with an event filled with millions of people, such as heart-related illnesses and food poisoning.
In a tweet, WHO Director General Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus said that it “praises the Ministry of Health [of KSA] for its extensive role in addressing health challenges during the major event.”
