The first Saudi Arabian owned cinema has opened its first branch in Jeddah.
Minister of Media Turki bin Abdullah Al-Shabana attended the opening of Muvi Cinema in Mall of Arabia.
The Arab official even watched a movie on one of its screens.
“Honestly, this is an amazing achievement, I am happy it is a Saudi brand and it is something that inspires pride,” Al-Shabana said.
The chain of cinemas is also being operated by a team of Saudi nationals.
Next Generation company which operates Muvi cinemas plans to open 250 screens in the next two years across the Kingdom.
Saudi has lifted the ban on cinemas in 2018 as part of its ongoing reforms.
Muvi cinemas revealed that they plan to open four more cinemas by year end.
