Pinoy kids in Bahrain to learn more about Wikang Filipino

The Philippine Embassy in the Kingdom of Bahrain on Saturday announced its language program for Filipino kids for late this year.

The “Wika, Kultura at Kasaysayan sa Embahada” (WIKKA) Program for 2019 will be held from October 11 to December 6. The Embassy notes that knowing the country’s language and history is essential for every Pinoy kid, especially those who are not based in their home country.

The Embassy added that reintroducing the Philippines to these kids in the form of classes is the best way for them to develop their nationality.

“The program aims to introduce Filipino language, culture, and history to Filipino children, including those with Filipino parentage or ancestry,” the Embassy said in its post.
The classes—which are free—will be conducted at the Embassy for eight consecutive Fridays. The last Friday, December 6, will be reserved for the Commencement Exercises.

Filipinos based in Bahrain have already expressed interest in the program. Parents like Mamaclay Julius Jude, Michelle Naima, and Marilyn Ambat-Gapaz are among the ones who requested for more details, saying they “will register my kids,” and commenting “very well” on the program.

More details will be posted on the Facebook page of the Embassy.
