Asian’s nose permanently disabled due to brawl over taxi fare in Bahrain

An Asian passenger will suffer a permanent nose disability after being attacked by two other Asians recently over taxi fare in Bahrain.

According to a report by The Daily Tribune News of Bahrain, the passenger’s ear and nose specialist stated that he suffered a deviated septum and inflation in the nostrils. The medical report also revealed that the disability is permanent, and recovery is estimated at only five percent.

The injury was caused after two Asian men attacked the passenger after the latter refused to give the demanded transport fare.

The court files say that the pair agreed to transport their victim from his home to his workplace and vice versa at an agreed price. At arrival, however, they demanded him to double the amount. When he rejected, they attacked him and broke his nose.

“They attacked me once I told them I am not going to pay them any extra money. They punched me in the face and then ran away,” the victim told prosecutors.

A deviated septum happens when the nasal septum between nasal passages is displaced to one side. Its most common symptoms are nasal congestion, recurrent sinus infections, nosebleeds, and difficulty of breathing

The two have been arrested and are standing trial before the High Criminal Court. The court will announce the verdict on September 30.
