The annual pardon in the holy month of Ramadan will not cover specific categories of crimes in accordance to the principles and directives for the annual pardon, Saudi Gazette reported.
Offenses that are not covered under the Ramadan pardon include the following:
- Murder
- Black magic
- Sorcery
- Blasphemy
- Desecration of the Holy Qur’an
- Cases involving state security
- Incitement impacting national cohesion
- Human trafficking
- Torturing of children
- Violence against people with special needs
- Cheating
- Money Laundering
- Cover-up (tasattur)
- Illicit real estate investments
- Forging of title deeds and documents
- Forging of currencies
- Issuing bad checks
- Illegal acquisition of Saudi citizenship
- Publishing confidential documents and information
- Sheltering people wanted for security offenses
- Arms smuggling
- Assault on govt officials or staff, doctors, nurses and paramedics
- Bribery
- Military crimes when in uniform
- Stock market crimes
- Ruqya offenses (offenses concerning treatment by recitation of verses of the Holy Qur’an)
- Disclosing of one’s intention to commit sins
- Conning and deception
In addition, offenses under “Hudood” (limits ordained by Allah) on which verdicts have been issued will not be pardoned.
