Melvin Rey de Jesus was among the more than 3,500 passers of the 2020 Physical Licensure Exams, but his struggle to achieve this is an inspiring to tell.
From being a cancer patient, he’s now one step closer to becoming a doctor.
De Jesus suffered Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. He had undergone several cycles of chemotherapy. It was in 2010 when he won the battle against the disease.
In a lengthy post on Facebook, his brother Marc calls him a true warrior.
He recalled, “Naalala ko ang mga panahong tinamaan ka ng cancer at ngayon isa ka ng Doctor. Ano man naging balakid sa buhay mo hindi ka sumuko.”
Then, he recalled: “Nandyan ‘yung nagtitinda ka ng mga pagkain, gumawa ng sabon at naging mangugupit ka. Pero hindi sumuko sa hamon ng buhay.”
The Professional Regulation Commission announced Thursday that 3,538 out of 4,704 passed the 2020 PLE.
