The UAE’s capital Abu Dhabi was listed as the 10th best city in the world in the Expat City Ranking 2020 of the Munich-based expat network InterNations.
The Capital was the only city in the Middle East that entered the top 10. Meanwhile, Dubai was also included in the list, placing 20th.
The two emirates overtook other big cities in 66 nations including New York, Tokyo, Hong Kong, and London, even the culturally famed Paris and Rome.
The global survey involved more than 15,000 people representing 173 diverse nationalities. The cities were ranked according to their scores on healthcare, safety, work-life balance, and the affordability of housing.
Among the reasons for the inclusion of Abu Dhabi in the top 10 according to expats are: being easy to settle in, safety, and friendliness of the country towards foreigners.
The Spanish city of Valencia topped the list.
