Passengers arriving from Beirut—where the recent port explosion that killed over hundreds and injured 4,000 people took place—were welcomed at Dubai International Airport on August 9 with flowers.

About 163 people who got off an Emirates flight were handed white roses by the operations team from Dubai Customs, with a message stating: “Rebuilding Lebanon is like rebuilding UAE”—a quote from UAE’s Founding President, Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan

The initiative aimed to show the UAE’s solidarity with Lebanon and its people.
