A woman has been ordered by Fujairah Civil Court to pay Dh50,000 for having an extramarital affair.
Court records show that the husband started to have doubts when his spouse (name and nationality withheld) started to change her behavior towards him and their three children.
Out of curiosity, he followed her one time and he was shocked to find out that his wife was going out with another man.
He kept mum about it for some time until he was able to gather enough evidence to take his wife’s infidelity to court.
Restaurants and areas designated only for families have been the hiding place for their affair.
After a thorough investigation upon the filing of the case in court, Fujairah Police arrested the woman and her boyfriend.
Taking into account witness accounts and other evidence, the court convicted the two of having an adulterous affair.
The court initially wanted the couple to reconcile, but the husband demanded a divorce. In the end, the court ruled in the husband’s favor, ordered a divorce and gave custody of their three children to him.
