The Filipino Times joins National Media Council's call for cooperation in adhering to country's social distancing measures

The UAE continues its campaign on safety during the time of the COVID-19 pandemic as the National Media Council’s (NMC) Foreign Correspondents’ Club of the UAE (FCCUAE) has initiated a video series promoting safety by following key social distancing measures and by staying at home.
National Media Council Executive Director of Media and Strategic Communications Jaber Saeed Al Lamki assured Filipinos are safe within the country that they now share with many other expats, including the Filipinos.
“Salamat sa aking kaibigan inaasahan naming makita ka sa lalong madaling panahon pagkatapos ng Covid19 – ang aming tahanan ay iyong tahanan – manatiling ligtas,” said Al Lamki in his tweet in the Filipino language.

As an Emirati himself, Al Lamki also expressed his gratitude for Filipinos whose acts of service continue to show amid the pandemic: “Today, the relationship between UAE and the Philippines already forms part of our daily lives as Emiratis. They are part of our homes, healthcare systems and everywhere we go we interact on a daily basis with at least three Filipinos per day in different places. Thanks to every Filipino person living in the UAE who are being very supportive of the country in this time.”
In its first episode on its video campaign series, The Filipino Times joins the call of NMC with its participation to share how life for Filipinos have changed in the UAE and how the country continues to care for everyone.
The Filipino Times General Manager Vince Ang stated that each rule that the UAE government implements always has the best interests of the public in their hearts and minds before they announce such measures.
“Lubha akong nag papasalamat sa mga initiatives at steps na ginagawa ng UAE government upang mapanatiling ligtas ang bawat isa sa mga residente nito, local man o expat,” said Ang.
He furthers that it’s every resident’s obligation to follow such guidelines and stay home whenever possible as these simple acts help protect not only themselves, but their fellow expats as well.
“Bilang residente ng UAE, obligasyon din natin, hindi lang ang sumunod sa batas, pati narin ang masigurong ligtas ang bawat isa saatin. May magagawa ka, yun ay ang manatili sa bahay. Because the more that you stay at home, the more you keep your loved ones safe,” said Ang.
