His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai made a phone call to the emergency center of the Dubai Health Authority (DHA) has now gone viral.

In a publicized conversation, Sheikh Mohammed was heard expressing his gratitude and pride for healthcare workers who are at the forefront of the country’s fight with coronavirus disease or COVID-19.

“We are proud of you and proud of all our doctors, nurses, paramedics, and healthcare professionals. You are on the frontline of our nation’s defense against the epidemic, and you are fulfilling a great and noble mission, but it isn’t done yet,” Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid told Dr Sara Kazim, Head of the Emergency Department at Rashid Hospital said in a phone call.

The leader also vowed for the government’s unwavering support to the medical workers in the entire country. Kazim said that UAE’s health sector is fully equipped to address any emergencies.

She also lauded the efficiency of UAE’s health team in dealing with the pandemic. UAE hospitals have already increased their capacities to address the increasing demand of patients.

Sarah: Hello.
Sheikh Mohammed: Hello, my sister Sarah, this is Mohammed bin Rashid.
Sarah: Hello Your Highness.
Sheikh Mohammed: I wanted to make sure you are all fine, and check on the work processes.
Sarah: Your call is very important to us. Everything is working in line with your directives. The health authority is in good hands.
Sheikh Mohammed: We are proud of you all – all doctors and nurses, paramedics and administrative officials in the health sector. You are on the frontline of our nation’s defence against the epidemic, and you are fulfilling a great and noble mission, but it isn’t done yet.
Sarah: May God bless you. We are following your directives and doing our roles.
Sheikh Mohammed: Tell me how is the work at the authority? What is the current situations?
Sarah: At the authority, we are holding multiple meetings to monitor the situation. We are preparing for the worst and taking proactive measures like increasing bed capacity at hospitals.
Sheikh Mohammed: How are residents interacting with the authority?
Sarah: People are cooperating with us. They are following the directives about home quarantine.
