In Talisay City, Cebu, Mayor Gerald Anthony “Samsam” Gullas issued a memo on Wednesday informing the regular and job order employees to wear the following colors: red for taken and in love; yellow for it’s complicated; orange for prisoner to someone’s heart; green for single and ready to mingle; pink for me time, not ready; grey for the one that got away; and black for “manhid”.
Gullas explained that he wanted to make Valentine’s a “little better or more enjoyable” for those who are hurt, in complicated relationships, those who are alone, those who had let the one get away, and those who are “manhid”.
“While it will be a chance to express yourself and how you feel, I see it as a chance for us to have a very colorful Valentine’s Day,” the mayor wrote in a post on his official Facebook page.

At the DILG-7 office, a similar memo was also issued by its regional director Leocadio Trovela.
However, the colors that their employees wore had a different set of meaning. Red is for those who are in love. Black is for those who were taken for granted. Pink is for those who “strike everywhere”. White is for those who are “single by choice”. Orange is for those who are “single by no choice”. Green is for waiting since birth. Purple is for it’s for complicated. Brown for those who are broken-hearted. Yellow is for those who are in long distance love affair. Blue is for those who are married. Gray is for those who prioritize “studies first”. And as for those who wear any DILG shirt are “bitter”.

Trovela wrote in his memo that this is for strict compliance with a note “Don’t spoil the fun”.
In Tagbilaran City, the similar memo was posted below the biometric fingerprint time clock for the City General Services Office.
The memo also had different sets of meaning. Red is for in love or those who are in a relationship. Green is for those looking for their No. 2. Pink is umaasa. Yellow is single and ready to mingle. Violet is for its complicated. Black for those who are broken-hearted. White for those who are NBSB (no boyfriend since birth) or NGSB (no girlfriend since birth). Blue for those were friendzoned. Grey for those who are bitter. Orange for those who are assuming. And any GSO uniform for those who are killjoy.
Some Talisay City employees were game to post photos of the shirts they wore.
Their business office posted a group photo while wearing their red shirts.

The staff of Talisay City councilor Restauro wore black to show that they are “manhid”.
