A young Filipina is making waves at a talent competition in Dubai with a voice that moves the audience’s hearts.

Quinnel Psy Tribaco, a 14-year-old Filipina born in Manila and raised in Dubai is among the finalists for ‘Saudi German Got Talent’ a platform launched by Saudi German Hospital to showcase Dubai residents who have a unique talent to share to the world.

Tribaco began her musical journey at the young age of seven by learning the violin, and with her parent’s motivation and prodding, she started to self-study guitar at the age of nine, with Piano and Ukelele at 12. And along with the study of various musical instruments and her knack at composing tunes and songs on her own, Tribaco trained her voice which then boosted her confidence to perform a number of songs in front of huge audiences.

Parents Arnel and Vicenta have always believed in the talent of their child, and hopes that this platform will allow their child to shine. Backed by the support of her younger brother Nhenquinnvic Ephraim and her loving grandparents Leopoldo, Mildred, and Teresita who have been in the UAE for almost two decades, Quinnel Psy pushes forward to fulfil her dream of sharing her heart-warming voice to the UAE.

“We always remind her to stay humble, to help others, and to be generous. Yung binigay ni Lord sa kanya na regalo ay yung talent niya kaya ingatan niya at gamitin to glorify God’s name para makatulong sa ibang tao – lalo na sa mga kabataan,” said Arnel.

Winners of Saudi German Got Talent will receive cash prizes as follows: Dh75,000 for the grand winner, Dh25,000 for the 1st runner up, and Dh10,000 for the 2nd runner up.

“Bilang magulang nais naming nama-encourage ni Quinnel ang mga kapwa niya kabataan to overcome their shyness. Our hearts are already overflowing with joy and if she will win, we plan to share the funds to those who are in need,” adds Vicenta.

But more than the cash prize, Quinnel herself believes that this is a great opportunity to show to the world the talent that young Filipinos are ready to share to the UAE’s multicultural country, and to the world.

“As I join this talent competition, I bring with my participation the hopes of young Filipinos to never stop dreaming and to believe in themselves as they showcase the unique talents that they have and continue to improve to be the best that they can be,” said Quinnel.
