We are where you are: The Filipino Times joins community aid drive for victims of Taal eruption

In its commitment to help assist the displaced residents of the recent Taal Volcano eruption, the staff behind The Filipino Times publication joined the Filipino community in the UAE to volunteer in the “Tulong para sa Taal” aid drive held last January 18.
Held at the office of Philippine Overseas Labor Office-Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (POLO-OWWA), The Filipino Times staff helped pack relief goods and carry donations for the victims of the said calamity.
In a Facebook post of Bayanihan Festival 2019, Filipinos were urged to aid families displaced by the ongoing volcanic activity by giving items including used clothes, face mask (preferably N95), hygiene and personal care products, paper goods, blanket, first aid, and food.

The Filipino Times has also assisted in the initiative of Al Masaood Oil & Gas in facilitating the provision of over 6,000 N95 masks for the victims.

Vince Ang, General Manager of The Filipino Times lauded this move of the company, commending its effort “to aid Filipino families in their time of need.”
The volcanic unrest has displaced 200,000 residents according to the latest bulletin of Batangas Public Information Office (PIO).
